Resort situated 17 km north of Prachatice, considered the main gate to the natual reserve of Sumava. 40 km from Ceske Budejovice and south west of the castle of Hluboka. Worth seeing locally: the Assumption Church one of the most famous building of southern Bohemia. bavarov is situated near to Vodnany, city surrounded by water. Vodnany has more then 1 century tradition of studies about fishing. During the months of May there is the traditional Fishing Day (Vodnanskerubarske dny). In the Medieval Vodnany was famous with the name of Aquilea Bohemoru or Bohemian Venice.
