Topography:
Achill is Ireland's largest island, situated off the west coast of Co. Mayo. It is separated from the mainland by a narrow strip of sea, which is now bridged and open to motor traffic. Achill offers some varied and wild scenery, with mountains, open moorland and dramatic cliffs. Keem Bay is regarded as one of Europe's best beaches and to the south the famous Atlantic Drive has some dramatic coastline.
