Arklow is a vibrant tourist and shopping town in Co. Wicklow, offers many sites of historical interest and is renowned for its pottery. It is also known for its knitwear, boat building and maritime industries. Arklow is located half way between Dublin and Rosslare (72 km) and lies on the Euro Route 1 between the two towns. It is one of the busiest seaside resorts on the East Coast and is very picturesque with forests and mountains to the North and West. There are two sandy beaches on the North and South shores of the river Avoca, which runs through Arklow.
