Topography:
Pleasant bathing resort (without large buildings), situated on the Baltic Sea, in the Hohwachter bay, bordered by the dunes. 5 km from Oldenburg in Holstein, 25 km from Luetjenburg, 55 km from Kiel, 60 km from Luebeck and 110 km from Hamburg. The 3 km long beach, of which 400 m are reserved for nudists. A steep and wooded hill at one end of the beach, training grounds for the army are situated on the other side (some noise possible at certain hours of the day). 16 km from here is the 'Bungsberg' with ski lift, the most northerly point of Germany. Ski runs for beginners and toboggan runs. Excursions to Sierksdorf with the 'Hansa-Park', to Laboe, Groemitz, Kiel, Luebeck and Hamburg and Fehmarn island.
