Topography:
Castellamara del Golfo is a typical Sicilian old town with 14,000 inhabitants. The town is situated 65 km west of Palermo on the gulf of Castellamare. The town has a sulphur and sulphate mineral spring, a bathing beach, tennis courts nearby in the natural park of Zingaro which is worth a visit. An ideal place to visit historical and cultural landmarks such as Segasta with its Greek theatre, Trapani and Erice. The town lies on the edge of a rocky, deeply indented coastline with several small beaches and bays, not to mention the large beach at Guidaloca. Drive along the coast and pass the impressive Scopello rocks, or to the famous Zingaro nature park (protected area), until you finally reach the white sany beach at S. Vito Lo Capo.
