The town of Killarney is situated in West Munster, 85 km west of Cork. Killarney is still a thriving market town, rich in history and surrounded by lakes and mountains. Ireland's highest mountain Carran Tuathail forms part of the Mcgillicuddy Reeks, which are nearby. Killarney is in the middle of a National Park and is an ideal departure point for exploring the surrounding breathtaking countryside. Surrounded by three lakes, it is ideal for hiking. Must visit: the Cathedral, Ross Castle, The Muckross Estate etc. The town is popular with visitors nearly all year round and offers a range of restaurants, pubs and bars, as well as traditional clothes and craft shops.
