Topography:
Vir is a small village on the island holding the same name, and is situated 25 km north west of Zadar (north Dalmatia) and is connected to mainland by a bridge. The landscape is varied: from karstic stone areas to pine areas and vineyards, fig and olive trees. Over-whelming natural and hardly touched sand and pebble beach with crystal clear water (31 km). The island is an ideal starting point for excursions (national park Paklenica with the impressive Canyons, Zadar with its picturesque old town) and above all a paradise for nautical science (a chain of 300 islands nearby as well as the little island of Zadar Archipels, including the national park of Kornati). In Vir there are small restaurants, cafes with shaded terraces and various shops.
