Aviemore is set in the heart of Britains ski area on the edge of a 600 acre nature reserve close to the River Spey approximately 40 km south of Inverness and 190 km north of Edinburgh. Good access by road (A9) and good central position to tour to other parts of Scotland from here. Various swimming pools in the hotels can be used by the general public, dry-skiing. Summer activities include all watersports on the nearby loch, golf, go-carts and excursions for example to the famous Loch Ness (approximately 50 km) and to the whiskey distilleries. Castle trail.
