The second major town in France, Lyon, is situated in an exceptional position between 2 hills where the Rhone and the Soane Rivers meet. The town has been shaped by more than 2000 years of history. France's gateway between the north and south of the country so benefits from its position as well as its industry, heritage and interesting history. Well known for its gastronomy, also known as the ville lumiere as more than 100 monuments and historic sites are floodlit until 1 am. Access to Lyon is no problem, linked to motorways, has train stations and an airport.
