Topography:
The island of Oleron is 30 km long and 13 km wide. It lies just 3 km for the main land and is connected by a road bridge (no charge). It is approx 37 km north of Royan, 50 km south of La Rochelle and approx 144 km north-west of Bordeaux. The island of Oleron, which is the second largest island in France, has sandy dunes to the south and east, rocky coasts to the north and west, picturesque scenery, pine forests and a warm pleasant climate.
