Topography:
Velky Bor is situated 49 km south of Plzen and 40 km west of Pisek. It is one of the small west Bohemian resorts (800 inhabitants) and an ideal starting point for excursions: 5 km away is Horazdovice, a town founded in 1279 with a historical market square, or to Susice (25 km), famous for its matches and its historical town centre. The Rabi-castle ruins 15 km, Kasperske Hory 42 km.
