Spisska Nova Ves originated as a gothic superstructure along a busy street, the first was built in 1268. Today it is an industrial and commercial centre as wellas being an artisan centre famous for its bell factory. At the resort: 14th century church with 87 m high bell tower. Spis museum. Restaurants, winter sports stadium, open air and indoor pools, sports grounds, fitness centre, rehabilitationcentre, horse riding, tennis, animal park. The town is situated on the outskirtsof Slovensky raj nature reserve, 90% of which is covered in forest. Natural sights: waterfalls, caves, beautiful fauna and flora. 25 km from Poprad and 6 km from Cingov.
