Andenne, the birthplace of Charles Martel, is a vast commune with hilly landscape, in the centre of a region sprinkled with blue stone farmhouses, ancient castles, and picturesque houses. Brussels 75 km, Liege 40 km, Namur 20 km. Places to visit: Sainte-Begge (13th century) with its museum. In the centre of Andenne: old 17th and 18th century houses, the St Begge fountain (1637). Andenne is also known for its ceramics, pottery and porcelain. A few kilometres away, the grottos of Sclayn (excavations - exposition of discovered objects), castle of Cherimont in the middle of a 40 ha forest, on the slopes of the Meuse.
