Lovely resort situated on the Sumava hills Bohemian forest), surrounded by mountains with forests. Worth seeing: the church of St Jakob with its gotic cupola, the oldest town hall dated 1571. Excursions to Ceske Budejovice and the castle of Hluboka nad Vltavou founded during the second half of13th century and one of the most visited in the country. It has been rebuilt several times between 1839 and 1871 in a Windsor gotic style and has a large English style park (45 km west of Prachatice). Cesky Krumlow is 40 km south east. The National park is approx 30 km away.
