Topography:
The little town of Pomarance with its 4000 inhabitants lies midway between Cecina and Siena, in a lovely position with wonderful views, at an altitude of 387 m. From Cecina take the road direction Volterra and after 30 km turn to the right to Pomarance. Volterra is 15 km away and was once an important Etruscan centre with numerous relics from this era.
