Boncath approx 10 km from Cardigan. Detached 18th century farmhouse situated in a quiet position next to an old watermill where hand made preserves are made and sold. Small stream passes by the house.5 acres of field and woodland for visitors to enjoy. Centre of Boncath with pub and grocers approx 1 km. Full range of shops, restaurants and pubs in Cardigan approx 10 km. There are lots of pretty coves with clean sandy beaches in the area, the nearest being approx 15 minutes drive. 2 national parks too in the area, one a coastal park which runs round the striking cliff coastline with over a hundred miles of pathways. Central heating. Parking by the house. Guest are welcome to watch the preparation of the preserves. Cot and high chair available on request.>Good position for excursions to the restored Iron Age village, Mediaeval castles, 13th century Bishops Palace in St Davids, the new National Botanical garden of Wales etc plus lots of activites available such as walking, climbing, fishing, pony trekking, golf, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing.
Topography:
Cardigan has a population of 3,840 people, sitated on the north bank of the Teifi estuary. Former ship building centre as visitors can see from the warehouses along the quays. Historical town with castle ruins dating from 1240, the 'Theatr Mwldan' in Bath House Street built in 1858, the remains of the mediaeval town walls and gates built in 1244. Places to visit include Cardigan Wildlife Park, the beaches and sheltered coves. Tours available to all the chapels and points of interest in the area. Good fishing for salmon and sea trout in the Teifi River. Boat trips from St Dogmael's to Cardigan Island, reserve of the Dyfed WIldlife Trust and home to birds, seals and Soay sheep. General market days on Saturday and Monday.
