The small village with almost 300 inhabitants is situated in the valley of the same name, south-east of Aosta, 19 km south of Villeneuve. Valavarenche is the main resort of the valley and a popular summer holiday resort. Excursions to the national park Gran Paradiso at the end of the valley. Bus service to/from Aosta. Shops, restaurants ( 3 in Degioz), hire of mountain bikes. Worthseeing the church Nostra Signora del Carmine ( 1483) which belonged to the Sarriod and Savoia families.
